After a wonderful week in Laguna Beach - I am recharged
and ready to start up again for the new year.

Here are a few of the inspirational photos I took while browsing in the shops down there. The clothing coming in from the new European designers is REALLY WONDERFUL! (especially the Germans!)

The clothing is following the current trend of "de-construction" - clothing is basically being assembled "inside out". Lots of raw edges and serged seams. I can't wait to fire up my PFAFF 4874 - a 10 thread embellishing serger!

Every type of surface embellishment is being incorporated - printing, hand embroidery, silk screening etc... Machine embroidery tends to use cotton or low-sheen threads.
